Before you meet with a Holistic Nutrition Counselor you will be sent paperwork to fill out with your basic physical information and information about what your goals are for the meeting. You will also have a food journal to fill out before the meeting. Be as honest as possible as it is most helpful for the Counselor if you list your food and drink intake in great detail.
Your counselor will work with you to choose a location and time that is convenient for both of you. In order to facilitate a more relaxed atmosphere this will normally be a public place, a coffee shop or restaurant is a preferred type of location. During this meeting, which usually lasts an hour to two hours you and your counselor will go through your food journal and look for options for you to improve your diet, or achieve your goals.
Working with a Holistic Nutrition Counselor means that the Counselor is trying to find out why you do what you do, and how to help you make any changes you want to improve life or to meet a specific goals. If the questions start to feel to intrusive do not hesitate to let the counselor know, this in itself tells the counselor a lot about you and what you need in a plan.
Feedback from the client is one of the most important things when it comes to a successful relationship and a successful outcome.
